Not much is known about Chal'nan. He was brought into the fold of the Grey Tiger Tong by Zolrin, who seemed fond of him. Given the nature of his injury, Chal'nan wasn't likely to make his fortune adventuring, so perhaps being stationed in Gadgetzan to watch over Tong business was a kindness.

He has a reputation at the bazaar for watching his money carefully, earning him the nickname 'Coppers'.
